Advanced Lookup – New Feature for Model Driven App

We all know advanced find but have you heard about advanced lookup?

Advanced Lookup

We can apply all of the available filters easily to search for, explore and select records to populate a lookup field. This offers an engaging lookup experience, so we can view all columns of a view to identify the right record to select. The columns can also be sorted, to view records.

How does this look?

Enable Advanced Lookup at Power Platform Admin Center

  • Go to Power Platform Admin center
  • Select the environment
  • Settings > Product > Behavior
  • Lookup behavior – Default is Off

Explore

We can view results as you type with advanced lookup. Switch to another view or a completely different table and view results without having to retype your query.

  1. Search: Enter search text to find the row that you’re looking for. When you change views the search text is retained.
  2. Change views: Select to change views.
  3. Sort: Select the arrow at the top of any column to sort in ascending or descending order.
  4. Only my records: Select to only show rows that you own.
  5. Add new record: Opens the quick create form where you can add a new row for the table. When you save the new row, the advanced lookup grid will refresh and show the newly added row.
